Enough is Enough
I don't even know where to begin this post because I'm angry (correction disappointed). We all know the current situation in Palestine, children dying, men being arrested for no crime and human right violations that are too graphic, detailed and too many to count. Ever since I was born Muslims were suffering everywhere in the world Palestine to Somalia, Bosnia to India. we became numb and so accustomed to hearing tragic stories of how a house was bombed, how a baby was shot or how a small girl was raped. we stop and ponder for seconds then go back as if we didn't really care. stories about how strong this ummah was and the courage of its people became nothing but stories. All we do now when we hear about Gaza is quickly change our profile photos on social media, write a few meaningful tweets, Instagram or Facebook posts for a day or two maybe to feed our ego and to show the world that we care. we forget that Allah knows what is in our hearts!
how many of you seriously considered helping? whether through an organisation, signing a petition, fundraising, rallying and making your voice heard. It is a war, a dirty political war and unfortunately leaders won't do much (the sad and shameful truth). The case of Palestine is more than 60 years old and if the leaders of the free world wanted to do something they would have. what hurts me the most is the strikes on Gaza started with Ramadan, parents praying and wondering if their children and themselves will make it through another night. People trying to escape with nowhere to go literally, Egypt refused to open Rafah crossing for the Palestinians.
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The example of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.” (Sahih Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)
Are we the believers that the prophet was talking about! Do we really feel the pain of our ummah? or are we too lost in this worldly life. Please act now by being active and look for your local charity organisation and donate generously, boycott Israeli products (hit them where it hurts), voice your opinion on social media and let the world know what is really happening. Remember, if it was you suffering in Palestine, you would want all the help you can get. Keep Palestine in your dua'a especially that we are fasting and Allah promised that our dua'a will not be rejected. I have one simple request after you read my blog post during the closest salaah you're praying while in the state of sujood (Prostrating) make dua'a for Palestine.
